Auglaize Township Joins OhioCheckbook.gov COLUMBUS – Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague announced that Auglaize Township (Paulding County) has recently joined OhioCheckbook.gov. “We’re pleased to welcome Auglaize Township as the latest local government partner to join the Ohio Checkbook,” said Treasurer Sprague. “OhioCheckbook.gov gives taxpayers a transparent view of how public dollars are being used. When residents can easily access this information, they’re more engaged in the decisions that shape their communities.” Auglaize Township is the sixth municipality in Paulding County to join OhioCheckbook.gov. The township’s online checkbook includes more than 857 transactions that represent over $364,898 in spending from fiscal year 2024. “The Ohio Checkbook is a game-changer for local government transparency,” said Township Trustee Gary Lewis II. “It empowers our residents to see exactly how their tax dollars are spent and helps us build trust through accountability. As a trustee, I’m proud to support open access to our financial records.” OhioCheckbook.gov was launched in June 2020. The new transparency website combined OhioCheckbook.com (previously administered by the Treasurer’s office) and Ohio’s Interactive Budget (previously operated by the Office of Budget and Management) to create a single, one-stop resource for taxpayers to learn more about spending at the state and local levels of government. This mural is located in our township and was painted on a pole barn to honor LeAnn and Bruce Ramsey's son, Army Private First Class Joshua Ramsey with the 95th Military Police Battalion, who died while serving. The display is located on Paulding County Road 201 near Ohio 66. The family welcomes anyone who wants to come see the memorial to visit the farm.
